Control the listing, control the market. This concept is an industry fundamental. While this remains true, why discount the opportunity to make more money on the deal? 

Representing the listing is what costs real estate professionals the most financially, versus being solely a buyer's agent. A listing agent first creates assets to win the business. Singer Katy Perry is kissing her Hollywood Hills home goodbye. The 32-year-old listed the posh Los Angeles property in for $9,450,000, accordingto Variety.

Perry bought the 2.33-acre spot in 2013 for $8.2 million, and it's one of two homes that make up a compound she owns on the famed Mulholland Drive. The secluded estate adjoins the popular hiking trails of Runyon Canyon.


The pop star’s spread is certainly a hit. Built in 1954, the four-bed, six-bathroom Mediterranean-style home measures 7,400 square feet.
